Until now I still cannot decide what surprised me Until now I still cannot decide what surprised me more: That I cooked and baked something edible and yummy (true story!) or that I managed to do it without setting off an alarm. People who know my culinary history tend to laugh when I pick up a knife, yet on this night everything was different: @cookinesi_by_zoe showed my how to keep both my cool and my ingredients, while @victorinox_dach provided the tools that made me feel surprisingly capable and the group around me added so much warmth that I completely forgot to worry about ruining this meal. Somewhere between chopping, stirring and laughing until my mascara almost surrendered, I realised how good it feels to try something I usually avoid. I left the event with flourr on my hands (okay, and on my apron, in my hair – basically everywhere), a full belly, a happy heart and the slightly unsettling thought that maybe I should give this kitchen thing another shot. Apparently I can follow a recipe. Apparently I can even enjoy it.
